UCSF Ophthalmology has been ranked #10 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026-2027 Best Hospitals specialty rankings. After tying for the #10 spot last year, UCSF now holds the #10 position outright.

The national recognition reflects the department’s continued excellence in patient care, research, education and innovation, made possible by the dedication of its faculty, staff, trainees, researchers, and clinical teams.
