Our ophthalmologists and optometrists provide consultation, evaluation and treatment of ophthalmological problems through general and subspecialty practices at UCSF Medical Center. Visits are by appointment only, but 24 hour urgent and emergency service is available. Adult eye care services can be contacted through (415) 353-2020 (click here for directions and maps). We offer adult eye care at three main locations, the Wayne and Gladys Valley Center (WGVCV) for Vision, the Parnassus Campus, and the UCSF Berkeley Outpatient Center (BOPC). WGVCV is located at 490 Illinois St, the Parnassus clinic is located at at 400 Parnassus Avenue, 6th floor, and the BOPC clinic is located at 3100 San Pablo Ave, Berkeley, CA. Routine vision care services, including adult eye examinations, eyeglasses and contact lenses and general management of common eye diseases are offered to all patients at the UCSF Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Optometry Clinic. All Ophthalmic Specialty Services for complex and rare eye conditions are readily available as needed. We have the largest surgical eye care program in Northern California, which includes cataract and cornea surgery, glaucoma surgery, oculoplastic eyelid and orbital surgery, refractive surgery (laser vision correction), strabismus correction, and vitreoretinal surgery. Our other areas of expertise are neuro-ophthalmology, ocular inflammatory disease (uveitis), ocular oncology, ocular pathology, and diagnosis and treatment of retinal degeneration.
