We welcome outstanding and motivated scientists and scholars with experience in informatics and/or biostatistics (i.e., large data analytics, registry-based or pragmatic RCT design/implementation, target trial emulation and causal inference, NLP/text mining from clinical notes) to join our multidisciplinary, collaborative team of researchers in the Department of Ophthalmology and the Proctor Foundation at UCSF. Required qualifications include programming or statistical experience in SQL, R, or Python.

We are recruiting a data scientist/research data analyst for the lab.

Qualifications:
The data scientist position requires a BA/BS (preferably MS) in data science, (bio)statistics, or related areas. We are looking for someone who:

  • Can extract, clean, analyze large administrative or EHR datasets for research
  • Is Proficient in R, SQL, (preferably Python)
  • Is excited to work with real-world clinical data to improve eye health
  • Is able to work collaboratively with a team
